Disney and IMAX confirmed Tuesday that Iron Man 3 will indeed be released in the IMAX 3D format, starting April 25 internationally and May 3 domestically.
It's not an unexpected development — many recent blockbusters have been released in IMAX, including Marvel Studios productions , and — but at the very least a reminder that Iron Man 3 is coming sooner than you might think.
Iron Man 3 is directed and co-written by Shane Black, and features the returns of Robert Downey Jr., Gwyenth Paltrow and Don Cheadle, plus new additions including Ben Kingsley as the Mandarin and Guy Pearce as Aldrich Killian.
