December Comics Sales Strong To Close Out 2012

While it may seem a little counter-intuitive to release year-end 2012 Direct Market sales figures before the December numbers, Diamond Comics Distributors released those December 2012 charts Friday, three days after their release of yearly charts.
So while nothing about December should come as a big surprise, here are the facts & figures anyway:
Comparative sales wise, we already knew overall 2012 industry sales were up 14.72% over 2011, but the December numbers were even more impressive than that. Comic book sales were up over 19% over December 2011 (the 4th month of the New 52) and overall sales were up 15.74% over the same period a year ago, making this a very nice holiday season for comic book retailers.
