SIN CITY Sequel Casting News; PACIFIC RIM Trailer

Second update, 1/8: And here's one more piece of Sin City A Dame to Kill For casting news: Josh Brolin has been confirmed to play Dwight, as revealed in a press release from Dimension Films.

Dwight was played by Clive Owen in the 2005 original, but there's a storyline reason for the shift: The character has facial reconstructive surgery between A Dame to Kill For and The Big Fat Kill, the Dwight-centric story depicted in the first film.

Update, 1/8: Another actor has joined this year's Sin City: A Dame to Kill For: Law & Order: SVU's Christopher Meloni, as reported by Deadline.

Meloni will play a cop in the film, though no further details have been released yet.

PACIFIC RIM CES TRAILER:

And in more Hollywood news, here's the latest Pacific Rim trailer, which debuted at the currently ongoing CES show in Las Vegas:

Original story: Joseph Gordon-Levitt will indeed be starring in a new comic book movie, but maybe not the one you expected.

The increasingly ubiquitous Dark Knight Rises and Looper actor has committed to the role of Johnny in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, according to Deadline. Production has already begun on the film, a seque to the 2005 original scheduled for release on Oct. 4 of this year, and again co-directed by Robert Rodriguez and series creator Frank Miller.

Rumors surfaced earlier last week that Gordon-Levitt was a potential candidate for the lead part of Star-Lord in Marvel Studios' 2014 feature Guardians of the Galaxy, but Deadline reports that he's now officially out of the running for that role.
