Paramount and J.J Abrams are playing fandom like a fiddle.
In addition to the 1:03 Star Trek: Into Darkness teaser trailer they released today that sent Trekkers both hardcore and casual into a frenzy trying to interpret the clues to Benedict Cumberbatch's still unofficially confirmed villain-identity, they also slipped in a subtitled version for the Japanese market, 14 seconds longer and featuring a couple of additional seconds and images at the very end that invoke a very famous moment in Star Trek movie history.
Is this clue what finally reveals who the big bad in Into Darkness really is, or just another masterful red herring?
