Up to this point, very little has been revealed of 2013's Star Trek: Into Darkness — only three frames, in fact, the source of the image above.But that's going to change as of Dec. 14, as the first nine minutes of the J.J. Abrams-directed film will be screened in IMAX 3D before viewings of , according to a Paramount press release. It's a similar promotional tactic to the IMAX preview of , which screened in December 2011, seven months before the movie's release. Like that film, several sequences in the Star Trek sequel were shot with IMAX cameras. Star Trek: Into Darkness is scheduled to open on May 17, 2013. Got a comment?
