Mark Wahlberg Takes Over Lead in TRANSFORMERS 4

"Hey Megatron, say hi to your mother for me, okay?"

Paramount has announced actor Mark Wahlberg has been cast as the lead actor in Michael Bay's Transformers 4, due to being shooting in spring 2013 for a June 27th, 2014 release. To date, the previous three Transformers films have franchise has earned more than $2.6 billion worldwide.

This will be Bay and Wahlberg's second pairing, having worked together on the upcoming action comedy set in the world of bodybuilding, Pain and Gain.

"Mark is awesome." said Bay in a press release. "We had a blast working on 'Pain and Gain' and I’m so fired up to be back working with him. An actor of his caliber is the perfect guy to re-invigorate the franchise and carry on the Transformers’ legacy.”
