The critically acclaimed The Walking Dead adventure game from Telltale Games is getting a retail release December 4, 2012 in North America after the five chapter digital run is complete in November. The standard retail edition will run $29.99 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, a premium of $5 over the complete digital edition.
The bigger news for fans of the game, however, is the Gamestop exclusive Collector's Edition. Running $69.99 and only available via pre-order, the Collector's Edition features the game, plus a special edition The Walking Dead Compendium One with a new cover by longtime series artist Charlie Adlard. The Compendium One book includes issues 1-48 of the original comic book series, offering over 1,000 pages of story to zombie fans, and usually retails for $59.99.
Telltale hasn't officially announced more The Walking Dead adventures, but they have been careful to call this edition "Season One" in all of their promotional materials. No PC/Mac retail edition has been announced.
