Garth Ennis and Dynamite have a long happy relationship together. With The Boys they have taken on superheroes in an all-new way, with brutal violence mixed with poignant social commentary (and more brutal violence). Now, as that comes to a close, Ennis starts his next chapter with Dynamite, helping them launch their new Crime line of titles.
In Red Team, Garth Ennis and Dynamite described "up-and-coming artist" Craig Cermak team for this new seven issue limited series that features a Major Crimes task force in the NYPD who make a bad call that leads to lots of drama. The team decides to murder a suspect, and things don't go well after that. Dynamite described the series as "in the tradition of The Wire and The Shield" in a press release. Cermak said in the press release that he's honored to work with Ennis on a new series. "Dark and moody are what I think some of my strong points are artistically, and that is what this series has. Interesting characters, a great premise, and hard situations. Being able to step into this world is such a treat to draw and I'm pushing to really deliver the quality it deserves."
