ALL-NEW X-MEN Script X-cerpt 5: Boyscout Scott Is Back

Update 4, September 28: Rounding out a week of these teases, and giving us a grand total of seven pages (out of a presumed 20) of art, ComicsAlliance today posted the latest page in the book. This one focuses entirely on the old X-Men, the young versions of our heroes. It seems there's some turmoil; and perhaps even this late in the issue that they are not yet in the future/present? Take a look for yourself and let us know what you think!

 

Page 19:

1- Hank turns and looks his friend right in the eye. He is at his wit's end.

Scott is calm and friendly. This is boy scout Scott. He could not be further from revolutionary Scott.

Bobby shrugs.

THE BEAST

I know EXACTLY what I'm saying, Scott.

CYCLOPS

But your training.

THE BEAST

I think- yes. I'm resigning from the X-Men.

Update 3, September 27: Today, our friends at iFanboy have another page to show off, and this one is centered on Storm. It takes place directly before the CBR pages, for those keeping score, and shows just how tied Storm's emotions are to her powers - which could be a problem for someone who is currently having a pretty rough time in life.

 

Page 15:

5- Ororo is angry and the sky behind her is dark purple wind and lightening.  The wind is insane.

ORORO

I KNOW!!

I know, Kitty.

But a fight like this will end in half the mutants dead and half the world hating us.

All we’ve been doing here will have been for nothing.

Update 2, September 26: While the later pages, 16 and 17 that CBR premiered yesterday showed Iceman getting specific, a few pages earlier, which we premiere exclusively today, shows a more general - yet probably more extreme - take from Bobby Drake. Here, he speaks to Ororo Munroe, better known as Storm, who has lost a lot in the big Avengers Vs. X-men struggle. Thanks to her originally standing with the X-Men, she and her husband Black Panther are now estranged, to say the least, and she's exiled from her recent home of Wakanda. Check out the next inside look of All New X-Men #1, complete with some bigtime foreshadowing, below.

 

Page 12:

4- Iceman looks at us and thinks out loud.

ICEMAN

When we were young we were always worried about a mutant apocalyptic nightmare!

I'm telling you, if the young us saw what was going on today it would feel WORSE than the mutant apocalyptic nightmare we used to WORRY about!

Update 1, September 25: Today sees another page and another script excerpt, this time courtesy of our friends at CBR. This one takes us into the next step, adding Iceman, Storm, and Kitty to the mix. There are two more redacted words from this next script bit, this time it's something that our heroes are hiding. One thing is clear, these guys are not happy with how Avengers vs. X-Men went down, and they are awfully worried about what their younger selves would think about it all... and soon they'll find out for sure.

 

Page 16-17:

4- Iceman is next to Hank, who leans on the blackbird.  Trying to disguise [REDACTED] and [REDACTED]… And says it.

ICEMAN

The thing is Ororo, I've known Scott longer than ANYONE.

Me AND Hank.

We've known him forever.  We were the ORIGINAL X-Men.

The Scott we grew up with - he would HATE this.

Original Story: You know that All-New X-Men is coming. You know it's one of the flagship titles of the big Marvel NOW! relaunch. But you don't really know what's inside these books by Brian Michael Bendis and Stuart Immonen.

 

Marvel is doing something different to promote this title, though, giving fans an inside look at the first issue before it comes out in stores, and when we say inside, we mean inside. With the image, Marvel is also giving a sampling of Bendis's script, giving us that one extra little hint at what's going on within these pages.
