Following an unconfirmed initial report a couple of weeks ago, Jim Carrey looks to be official in the role of The Colonel for Kick-Ass 2. Jeff Wadlow, director of the film, sent this tweet out over the weekend, seemingly confirming the casting with an Ace Ventura: Pet Detective reference: "6 days till we start shooting... and we officially have our Colonel. Alrighty f'n then!" Deadline has since reported the news as official. Additionally, Mark Millar has taken to Twitter to remind fans and press that Kick-Ass 2 has no "Balls to the Wall" subtitle at this point, which was initially released but dropped before the book's release. AVENGERS, DARK KNIGHT RISES PASS BOX OFFICE BENCHMARKS Over Labor Day weekend, Avengers — buoyed by a one-week-only re-release — officially passed the $1.5 billion mark in worldwide totals. Also, The Dark Knight Rises has now earned more than a billion dollars in combined box office, placing it just ahead of 2008's The Dark Knight in worldwide total gross (but still $100 million behind in domestic numbers). HAWKEYE HUNTS WITCHES And speaking of Avengers: that film's Hawkeye, Jeremy Renner, is co-starring in January 2013's Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, and its trailer was released Tuesday: Got a comment?
